Re: Should I take this Camera Dollars course seriously?
Dear Photographer,

Let me try and guess something about you:

1. You love the ease and all the different photo taking options that a digital camera affords you

AND

2. If you were shown a straightforward way on how you can take your hobby and turn it into an ongoing cash machine, then you'd be happy to look at that as well

If I'm right then read on, you'll like what I have to say.

I've been a keen photographer for several years and was quick to embrace the digital format when it became available.

Whilst initially I was only interested in taking photos for photos' sake, when a friend of mine who is a graphic designer saw some of my shots and expressed interest in using them in some of her work, I had my first introduction to the commercial possibilities of digital photography.

When I asked her where she normally sourced her images from she told me about microstock photography sites (or online photostock sites). I didn't think much more of it at the time because I thought that you really had to be a professional photographer in order to contribute.

It was only after I  learned through some photography forums of other amateur photographers who were starting to make money by selling their photos online, that I decided I'd have a closer look. And so soon I was also submitting my photos to a couple of online stock photography sites.

Did I make a lot of money? No, not at first. I knew that technically what I was doing was OK, but what I didn't realise at that stage was that
successful commercial photography is about 30% photography and 70% marketing.

Still enough dollars were trickling in to encourage me to press on and see if there ways I could go about improving my approach.

I scoured the Internet for more information, but I couldn't find anything of value. There were certainly some websites and online articles that spoke of the rise of microstock sites but none that came anywhere near to giving step-by-step instructions on how to take the most appropriate shots and the best avenues for marketing them.

I even bought some digital photography e-books to see if they could shed further light on the subject, and whilst some promised to, I found the detail lacking. In fact, they didn't really tell me much more than what I already knew.

Fortunately a photographer friend of mine learnt of what I was doing and told me of a resource that he had just discovered: a course called "The Camera Dollars Income System" by Brian Moore.

I told him that I'd already been down that path but he insisted that I check this out. It was newly released and it really was something that concentrated on the money-making side of things, and not just the technical aspects of taking good pictures.

I'm glad I listened to him, because after purchasing the system things have really started to fall into place for me. I have gone from making the odd sale to making consistent sales and there are now half a dozen of my photos that get downloaded several times daily. My "hobby" is now paying me $7-800 dollars per week and this will continue to rise as I continue to use the system.

What the Camera Dollars Income System does is give you an insider's perspective on the tricks, tools and resources that professional photographers use every day.

It doesn't just tell you what to do, it shows you how to do it, giving stacks of examples along the way.

For instance the course told me about modeling rights and included a sample form that I could use; it showed me (with pages of example shots) the sorts of images that are popular on the stock photography sites; it gave me a step-by-step tutorial on how to go about submitting my photos to shutterstock; it cleared up a few misperceptions I had about copywright law; it even showed me a place where I could sell some funny shots that had been sitting on my hard drive for years.

All up the Camera Dollars Income System comes to 115 pages and covers the following areas:

1. Introduction
2. Insider Secrets
3. What To Shoot
4. What People Buy On Stock Photo Sites
5. Selling Your Work
6. A Comprehensive List of Sites That Will Pay You For Your Photos
7. A Tutorial on Submitting Your Photos to Shutterstock (including a tip on how you can make an           extra $200 per month with a simple keyword change)
8. Selling Photos on eBay
9. Selling Funny Pictures for Cash
10. Selling Photos Offline
11. Other Ways To Make Money
12. How Much Money You Can Make
13. Other Clients You Can Sell To
14. Field Service Photography
15. Tips On How to Professionalise Your Photos
16. Copywright
17. Secrets To Succeed
18. Index of Resources
                 - Stock Photo Sales Sites
                 - Tools To Sell Photos Online
                 - Training and Reference Sites
                 - Direct Sales Sites
19. Glossary of Photographic Terms

Is there anything the course doesn't cover? Not that I can tell. If I have any criticism it is that a document this size should definitely have a Table of Contents and it could've been a little more structured in the way it was formatted. But hey, ultimately it's about the information and the information presented here is impeccable.

If you're interested in making some extra dollars or even in making more dollars by selling your photos online, then I unreservedly recommend that you purchase The Camera Dollars Income System.
